I only had the pleasure of meeting Bob face-to-face a few times, however he we participated in the same Monday - 1:00pm conference call where no matter what he said he always made me laugh. Listening to Bob talk about the Shreveport yard always made the call worth while. My condolences to all of you who lost a wonderful man. |

Bob Fielding was a great man but mainly a man of his word his word is what he lived and died by. The scrap business has lost a great "Man" from our industry that will be greatly missed by all "Junkies" and several hundred CMC fellow employees. Bob Fielding is one of the greatest men since my father. I worked with him for over 4 years. It was the most rewarding time of my life. No one has been or ever will be a more perfect man to work for. He was the most understanding and helpful person I know. He told me the most important thing to him is family and he proved that through two very hard times of my life. The steel industry is now missing the most valuable man that could have been there. I will always tell everyone I know about Bob Fielding. He will always be in my heart. To the family, my heart goes out to you. Minnie, you could tell how much he loved you. When he mentioned your name, his eyes just lit up. He spoke of his children and grandchildren with such pride. In closing, I hope that his legend will live on in the hearts of everyone he has crossed paths with during his life. I know it will live on in me. |

Bobby was one of my very favorite people in high school. I talked to him several times on the phone when he came to Dallas for his work, he always told me about his kids and grandkids. I thought that you were living in Louisana instead of Rogers. My husband is from Rogers and my sister-in-law still lives there.
