Donald Loyd Prater

75, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away May 31, 2007 at his home in Viney Grove, Arkansas. He was born June 3, 1931 at Pampa, Texas, the son of Robert and Estelle E. Moore Prater.

Donald was a member of the Viney Grove United Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 146 of Prairie Grove and a member of the Springdale Moose Lodge.
Among his many interest in enjoyed Dancing, Wood Carving, Riding his Harley, and playing Pool.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley of the home; three sons, Dennis Prater of Elkins, Arkansas, Darrell Prater of Lincoln, Arkansas, and Michael Elms of U.S. Army; two daughters, Darla Trout of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, and Michelle Reed of Dutch Mills, Arkansas; two brothers, Weldon Prater of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Gene Prater of Georgetown, Texas; one sister, Mary Alexander of Collinsville, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Brooke Araujo, Jason Trout, Tracy Dick, Cindy Prater, Nathan Prater, Logan Prater, Morgan Reed, Madison Reed, Michele Price, and Brett Reed; five great grandchildren, Austin, Blake, Victoria, Katelyn, and Logan.

The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Prairie Grove United Methodist Church.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 2, 2007 - 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church Prairie Grove, Arkansas, with Audie Long officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery Prairie Grove, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Mac McCurley, Mike Trout, Mike Reed, Gary Dick, Frankie Ditmars, and Larry Long.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Hatfield, Billy Dale Thomas, Darrell Parker, Wayne Patton, John Trout, Phineus Ramey, and Billy Ray Maxwell.
