Obituary

Albert Marion Copley 89, passed away December 12, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born September 5, 1927 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He was the son of Harrison Watts and Mary Lou Napier Copley. Al was one of eight children all which preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Wilma Latta Copley which he married July 21, 1951; they had two children, Pamela Renee’ Copley born June 22, 1952, who said goodby to us and went home to be with her Lord April 27, 1998. Darius Albert Copley born September 15, 1955 married Cindy Marie Rodriguez on May 14, 1994 and children Kristi Marie, Brittani Joy, and Ryan Ray Olm which gave us three beautiful grandchildren and one in heaven Randall Ray Olm. Kristi married Jim Hinrichs on November 3, 2001. They have three children, Chase, Brooke, and Daxton. Brittani and Scott Selmer married April 19, 2005. They have two children; Maizee and Izelle. Ryan is single.

What was Al all about? He was a good man who loved God. A good husband. A good father. A good friend. You were always welcome in his home. He was always ready to help, whether a menial task or counseling. He was a gifted teacher who relied in the “Inspired Word of God” which required total dependance on the Holy Spirt. He touched many lives. Al had quick wit and sense of humor. He served in World War II and was honorable discharged Sgt Albert M. Copley - 19th Infantry Regiment - Army of the United States of America - April 10, 1947. He was a member of Cane Hill Lodge #57 Free and Accepted Masons. Al was a maintenance electrician at North America-Rockwell Aviation. After retirement he spent more time on the farm at Westville, Oklahoma. For many years Al was manager and coach of Little League Baseball, Flag Football and Basketball. He was a proud Father when his son Darius became a two-time All-American and drafted by the San Francisco Giants.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 - 1:00 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Tulsa. We invite everyone to come to Thomas Hall for fellowship and food immediately following service. There will be an open mike for you to share how Albert touched your life.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the First Methodist Church Pastoral Care - 1115 S. Boulder - Tulsa, OK 74119. In memory of Albert Copley.
