Obituary

David J. Posey

Age 77, a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Shiloh Nursing and Rehab in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born September 26, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Bill and Marley C (Reineke) Posey.

David served in the United States Air Force and retired after 24 years of service. After retiring from the service he continued his work with veterans, working for the State of Arkansas. He had previously served on the Greenland School Board. His hobbies included fishing, traveling, carpentry, woodworking and making toys in his shop for Arkansas Children's Hospital as well as Shriner's Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Don Posey.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Norma Posey; three daughters Roxanna Birge and husband Jerry of Elm Springs, Arkansas, Tarrie Fraley and husband Todd of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Summer Morton and husband Clay also of Fayetteville; two sisters Pat Hluchan of Springdale, Arkansas and Laura Jones of Paden, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 13th, 2019, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Todd Fraley, Jerry Birge, Clay Morton, David Mesplay, Jackson Copeland and Oscar Morton.
