Tributes

May you have peace in your mother's passing. My deepest sympathies.
Adele Cooper - Friend of Howard Carter
There is a saying: Here’s to strong women, may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them. This is who my grandma was to me: a strong woman. She is one who had influence in helping me become the woman I am today. She helped raise me and I believe I get my stubbornness from her. It’s that stubbornness that has fueled my ambition to be strong and very independent. I hope I have passed that virtue onto my daughter Kate and I cherish that Nana, as she was known to us, got to be a part of my daughter’s life. Nana’s soul will forever be with me and it is the little things such as picking strawberries, the scent of wisteria, or the twitter of birds in the trees that are reminders that she is always near. I am forever blessed for our time together and the impact she has had on my life. Blessings to a strong woman, my Nana!
Marcie Yoakum - Granddaughter
