Hodges Samuel "Sam" Escue

93 a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away May 12, 2016 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born February 6, 1923 in Ft. Worth, Texas, the son of John and Velma Sparks Escue.

Sam was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville, He retired from the United States Army as a Lt. Colonel after 23 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his first Wife Charlene Escue.

Survivors include his wife Janet Bowden Escue; two step children Kimberly Thornton and husband Philip of Waco, Texas and John Kirkpatrick of Weatherford, Texas; one step grandson Clay Hunter Kirkpatrick and a niece Lynn Bush and husband Bob of Lincoln.

The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held Monday May 16, 2016 10:00 A.M. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery, there will be no graveside service held at the cemetery.

Sorry to hear of Sams's passing. I always enjoyed talking with him when brought his cars in for service & when he had the hardware store. He was a good guy.
