Lee was a fine man. Sad to know he's left us. Thought the world of him. From Steve: "Still got your back, Lee." (It was a bond between them when we lived out on Hoot Owl Mountain, toward Lee's Creek.) May God bless and comfort all the family.

Condolences to you all. I was very young when I knew Mr. Terry. Such a kind authority figure is what I remember. Always speaking to me when my mother and I ran into him. I have two vivid memories of him. The first was when my brother got his drivers license. He called him into his office, my Mother and I were with him, and gave him a talk about responsibility and such. Not having a male figure in our lives, it left an impression on me. I know he was the Chief, but that he would take the time and actually care. Even at that age I could tell. I know he probably did it with everyone, but it touched me the way he handled it. The next occurrence was when I got my license, about four years later. I was procrastinating about it. My brother came home on leave from the Air Force and said I was getting my permit while he was home. He made me study and took me down to the station to take it. Mr. Terry took us back to his office again. I figured I'd get the same talk as my brother had four years prior and I was nervous. But he addressed my brother, because by him bringing me down to take the test, he had to sign and take responsibility for me and explained to me what that meant. Again, he cared. He made me see my brother in a different light and I think that not only did he scare my brother with the possibilities of what I might get into, but he talked to him like a man, even though he'd been in the "hot seat" not long ago. He was respected by and showed respect to us. A couple of kids in his town. I always remember him fondly. I hope you enjoyed hearing my memories about your dad. He was a special man, in a few moments, in the life of a child who's father wasn't present. Blessings to you and yours.

I worked with Lee Wade back in the 1970's at the Police Department. Lee Wade was a good man to work for and he was a fair and honest police officer. The city was well served while he was the in office. We shared many things and enjoyed talking about our common military background. He was a good friend.

I was honored to work with Lee in Prairie Grove around 1972. I was only a nightwatchman, but he treated me as a fellow officer, all the way to letting me back him up a couple of times. When we opened our shop, he supported us in many many ways. Though not everyone did, I appreciated the antics that he was capable of pulling. ;-) I feel really blessed to have called him a friend.

Enjoyed all the horseback rides & visits with Lee through the riding club. When I was much younger & Lee was chief of police, Lee kept us boys out of a lot of trouble! - always with a stern warning. We were always pushing curfew - Lee always took care of his citizens!

We enjoyed many great trail rides, parades & dinners with Lee. I always enjoyed running into Lee & visiting, he would catch me up on people we knew, & things going on....& never failed to mention "what a fine man" my dad was. Lee will be missed - so sorry for your loss
