Tributes

So sorry to hear of Ottie's passing. I taught him when he was in the 11th grade. I will remember him as a sweet kid with a good sense of humor. I pray for peace and comfort for his family.
Mandy Hunt - Former Teacher
Ryan , I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son. I can only imagine what you and your family are going thru. I think there are some things in this life that we will never understand why they happen, but put your faith in God and I truly believe He will get you thru this. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and that I am very sorry again for your loss.
Laura Bell Patrick - Former classmate of Ryan
Tragic news. Our hearts hurt. Ottie was a frequent and welcomed visitor to our home when we worked with students at First Baptist Church PG. He brought us a lot of joy during those days, and we hope he knew that we loved him. As the psalmist says, "The Lord is near to brokenhearted." We pray all of you, family and friends, experience His comfort in real and tangible ways during these difficult days.
Jeremy and Merrilee Greer - Former youth pastor
Ottie you made me smile at a time I didnt want to or believe that I could. You tried your best to comfort me, while you were also hurting. Our family loves you, and you will remain in our hearts forever.

Ottie spent a lot of time with our son while they were in school. He was always respectful and polite and we loved having him around. He was a great basketball player and we loved watching him play. We pray for comfort and peace for your family at this very difficult time.

We considered Ottie one of our own kids. He was always a polite young man willing to help you with anything you needed. He loved to come in sit down and carry on a conversation with any one that was in the house. He will be missed by all of us, but most of all Logan, Holly and Kenzie.
Jim and Marquita Smith - friend
Ryan and Family- Please know I truly share your sorrow. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

God rest his sweet soul. "I love ya'll.... pray for me." Ottie ' last words to me.

Trista, Ryan, Linda and Ronnie....I struggle for the right words to comfort you....Ottie was one of the finest young men I have ever known...he was polite, sensitive and always put everyone else's feelings before his own. Anyone lucky enough to meet Ottie had a good friend forever. One of my earliest memories of a teen-age Ottie was him coming to my home and wrestling on the trampeline with my son, Jarod, (5 years his senior!) always coming back to "take Jarod down this time!" Ottie, always smiling! He was always a member of our "extended" family....nothing will replace Ottie, but, then again, nothing can ever take him out of our hearts and minds..in that sense, he lives on forever! People will always remember the way Ottie died.....I prefer to remember the way he lived! God be with you all, and all of us who loved Ottie...he was a rare and true gift. My heart is with you forever...Karen Latta Franklin

Dear Spencer family, The loss of Ottie has impacted our family greatly & on multiple levels. We truly understand what you are going through since the loss of our son, Preston. Ottie said he always could count on Preston to lift him up when he was down. Ottie was such a loving person with a great personality! I understand the struggles of Bi-polar disorder since being diagnosed for over 21 years. This illness can present a difficult challenge when a person does not respond to medication. Your loving family did everything possible and do not ever forget that! The months ahead will be very challenging as things get quite. To quote my son ,Preston, "Do not live in the "Would of, Should of, Could of"s". Love Theo, Mary, & Chelsea
