Obituary

Ruth Aileen Parker

94 a lifetime resident of Lincoln, passed away August 19, 2015 at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville. She was born October 7, 1920 in Lincoln, the daughter of Grover C. and Frances K. Braly Foley.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln.

Ruth attended the University of Arkansas and taught school for one year at Howe in Savoy. She took a temporary summer job at the Lincoln Post Office and was offered a clerks position with the post office where she worked for over 30 years serving as the Post Master for many years. Ruth served on the Lincoln Council for many years and served as Mayor for 2 terms.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband James Parker.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Marietta and Bill Morris of Lincoln; one nephew James C. Morris and two nieces Sarah Altland and Margaret Bohannon.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday August 22, 2015 2:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Arkansas Country Doctors Museum in Lincoln.
