Mary Lou Goodale
92, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday September 21, 2025. She was born April 14, 1933 in Waverly, Tennessee to John and Lily Pruett Chappell. She was a longtime member of Center Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Goodale; sisters, Ruby Moore, Ruth Chumley, Margaret Manley, Gladys Floyd and Mildred Goodale; brothers, J.D. Chappell and Norman Eugene Chappell. Mary Lou retired from the Pemiscot County Courthouse, in Caruthersville, Missouri in 1995 after serving 32 years as a Deputy Clerk in the Circuit Clerk’s Office. She was involved in many church activities and taught preschool classes in previous years. She enjoyed crocheting and other hobbies during her life. The most enjoyable times were with her grandkids and great grandkids, enjoying trips together and activities at their ball games. In her later life she loved to take airplane trips with a window seat so she could see the clouds. She also loved to go to the beach. She taught her grandchildren how to play chicken foot and they taught her how to play banana grams. She loved her family and each of them knew it.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bolin of Fayetteville; one son, Olen Howard Goodale Jr. and his wife Trish of Cookeville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Emily Holloway, Michael Bolin, Stephen Goodale and William Goodale; seven great grandchildren, Dakota Holloway, Emma Grace Holloway, Weston Bolin, Waylon Bolin, Wyatt Bolin, Winnie Goodale and Cooper Goodale.
Visitation will be 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday September 24, 2025 at Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday at Center Street Church of Christ with burial to follow at Farmington Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
