Although, I had never gotten to know Argil other then to speek in passing. He must have been a very fine man. Everyone says how your family is, speeks volumes about you. and he sure raised some fine children and grandchildren.
Flora Baldwin (tollett) - Went To School With Cary And Steve
Prairie Grove has truly lost a very important part of this community, Argil has given this community more than just his life, he has given us his children, grandchildren, and all of his family who has influenced so many people. He is truly an individual that will be deeply missed in this community. Heaven has most certainly gained a very loving, caring and gracious man. Till we meet again, rest in peace. Know that we will cherish your legacy for years to come through your family and friends.

It is with sadness that we heard of Argil's passing. He was a very nice man, always friendly and caring with everyone. I know his family will miss him terribly, but he fought long and hard to be with them for so many years and now he will be at peace, waiting to see them again. Argil was like a grandfather to our son, Dennis. Dennis has felt like part of the Bartholomew family all these years, since the first day of first grade, when he and Mitch became lifelong best-friends. Please know you are all in our hearts and minds.

I have alot of fond memories of Uncle Argil. As a child I spent alot of time with him and my mom. He was so much fun and he loved his family dearly, all of us. He was so proud of any accomplishment made by any of his family. Even though I didn't get to spend much time with him in the last few years, I thought of him often.. I will miss him, he was the last of that generation. The only thing that gives me peace is to know that all his brothers and sisters and our Grandma and Grandpa are so happy and they are all smiling and singing in Heaven. I love all of you guys and I am so sorry for your loss, for all of our loss. Love to you all, Marsha

It is sad as slowly we lose so many of the “one of a kind” members of our communities like Argil. He and the entire Bartholomew family gained our respect and business over the years with honesty, dependability and integrity in the cattle industry and community. We were pleased to count Argil and his family as friends. Our prayers are with the family in this time of sorrow knowing that Argil will be greatly missed.

Argil was a man of honor. He loved his family, especially his Emma Belle. I loved to hear his stories from his early childhood to the sale barn years. The cattle industry played such an important part of his life. I love to work for them and they have always treated me like family.

Our thoughts are with the family today. Memories we have of your family are many = the relationship of the Carl, Helm, Harlan families with you as neighbors and friends is a part of my growing up in P. Grove, and appreciation of Argil in the livestock business and support of young people in their projects is especially appreciated by Jimmie and I with our children and others. He will long be remembered in many areas of N.W. Ark.
