Bill was larger than life and a great supporter of Veterans of Foreign wars. He was of the best story tellers and I enjoyed sitting around and listen to them. The one thing I will never forget is he was the only family member that dorve me to the Bus station to be shipped off to Vietnam. I'll never forget that.

It is with great sadness that I post here today. Prairie Grove has truly lost one of it's greastest citizen. There will never be a replacement for this very unique individual. There is not a graduating class in Prairie Grove's past 30-40 years who did not know the name Bill Hulse, Who did not hear his wonderful stories. He will truly be missed at graduation this year. When my youngest graduated in 2008 she was award an award from Bill and even then he knew who she was and who her grandfather was even though he pasted away almost 30 yrs ago. He told her your grandpa would have been so proud of you. That to this day is her fondest (most emotional) memory of her senior year. Bill has fought many battles and been a leader in this community and has represented the Veterans of Foreign Wars with pride and honor and diginity. There will never in our hearts be someone to take the place of Bill HUlse. Rest in peace most valued vet, you so deserve it. God be with his family help them through the days, weeks and months ahead. And I say to them THANK YOU so much for sharing this wonderful piece of your life with us, even though there are times we did not deserve it.

I am a school counselor; that is where I met and worked with Mr. Hulse. I so admired this man for his approach to and enjoyment of life as well as his dedication to youth. Most people would just stay home if they felt the way he did lots of days. He will certainly be missed by many people. My thoughts and prayers will be with the family.

Bill was a great guy and always at programs at our school. He was a shining example for our students! We will miss him! He always had a smile and a word of encouragement for everyone he met! You all should be proud of the man he was! Your family will be in my prayers! Debbie Matney

Mr. Hulse helped us with so many blood drives and honors programs. If the student council held a blood drive at the high school, he was simply expected to be there or it wouldn't be official. I so enjoyed his sense of humor and his stories. I also greatly respect and am grateful for his service to this country and this community. May God Bless his family.
Stephanie Ceniceros - Pghs Student Council Sponsor

Bill faithfully volunteered at the VA Medical Center for over 40 years. His service touched the lives Veterans, volunteers, and staff. His stories were memorable; especially the tales of Bill and Marvin Dobbs. We laughed so hard our sides would hurt. Bill will be missed. He was a true patriotic and knew the meaning of patriotism.

Roger and Carol, I am so sorry for the loss. I know how proud you were of your Dad and I always enjoy seeing all of you at the family gatherings. I first knew who your Dad was from all the work he did with the American Legion ball teams, even before I married Vic. My younger cousin played. He has always been so good to dedicate his time to others. Your Dad was a very good man and will be missed. God bless you all, you are in my prayers, Peg

Bill was a very unique, special person and Veteran. Those who knew him appreciated him and all he did for his family, his community, his country, and his fellow Veterans. In the past 41 years, he gave 8500 hours of service at the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks. We can't thank him enough. Bill entered a quilt he made in the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival competition and won Second Place at the National Level; it was a proud moment for me to hang that medal around his neck and congratulate Bill for his fine work. The stories he told were special and will remain in my heart. Our VAVS thoughts are with your family; we will all miss him. Thank you for sharing Bill with us and giving us someone special in our lives.
Carol E Kick - Chief, Voluntary Svc Vhso

We remember Uncle Bill with great fondness and happy memories. He was a unique individual who loved life and loved living it to the fullest extent possible. He had the ability to tell stories like no other. My first real memory of him was when he came to Idaho as a very young man and lived with us one summer to help my Dad on his farm. That's when Uncle Bill began teasing us kids and he never stopped. My latest memory of him was when he came to visit us at our cabin in Idaho a few years ago where 14 family members had gathered for a week. He seemed to really enjoy it and was happy to sit around the campfire and relay his stories to his great nephews and their children. (I'd already heard most of the stories!)(ha) We are all proud of him for his dedicated volunteer work with the Veterans groups and for his service to this country. He will be missed!
Betty And Gary Leiser - Niece

I hope and pray that you and your family are comforted in this time of grief by the support of your many friends and family members. Blessings of strength and peace to your hearts.
Chaplain Melissa Brannan - Co-Worker Of Roger And Kasey

I remember Mr. Hulse from the time I was old enough to remember anything else. He was a pillar in this community that will be greatly missed. The one thing I remember the most is that 95% of the time that you seen him he was doing something to benifit the community. Several of the nonprofit organizations in this coumminty would not be what they were without the help of Mr. Hulse. He will be greatly missed!
