Tributes

Charles always made me laugh. I am glad I knew you. You were also the only guy that ever gave me serious competition for being weirdest guy in the room.
Doug Dempsey - Friend
I recognized a kindred spirit in you the first day we met my friend and I hate to see you go. You're the kind of friend a friend needs. The world will be a much less happy place without you in it. Rest in peace brother!
Mark Dillard - Friend/Coworker
The worst news somebody can ever get is losing a good friend/father/husband, knowing that you won’t be able to see him, hear his voice with his bold comments in relation to any topic, do things with him such as, play darts after work, drink a beer or two, have long dinners without rushing out of the restaurant, float the rivers, go to the Niagara falls, go to Wrigley Field Stadium on a road trip, go to baseball games, drive on the snow doing 180s and 360s listening to hard rock music, chauffeuring him around (he really liked that), having lunch together, hear him saying “NOT ON BOM” when there is something he don’t like to eat, his stories from the rollouts, having fun with him, etc. He was a great human being, always there for you when you need him, always ready to hear you out, caring towards others, proud loving father of 3 wonderful kids that had the opportunity of learning many good things in life from him (but not enough), he has touched many people’s heart along his life, mine included. I can go on and on with the good things to say about him, the smiles that he has put on people’s faces, long lasting laughers until crying and the good things he has done in his life. He was nothing but a wonderful person. Don’t understand why he was taken from us so soon, but there must be a much more important agenda for him in heaven. He sure will be greatly missed. It pains me to say this! From the bottom of my heart, rest in peace my dear friend. “CHEESE” Charles Strahan AUF WIEDERSEHEN MEIN FREUND! SEE YOU LATER MY FRIEND! ¡HASTA LUEGO MI AMIGO! Will love you and miss you forever my friend!

One life lived - but not long enough. Many lives touched - more than he ever knew. Many hearts touched - many broken by this loss. Will miss his smile. Thankful that I knew him.

There was never a dull moment with Charles. It didn't matter the situation or the circumstances, he would always try to find the best in anything and make people laugh. I had the privilege of knowing Charles for 5 short years and being able to travel with him for work. He taught me a great deal about living life enjoyably and we've shared memories that will never been forgotten. May your soul rest in peace, but your spirit live on through all of those who know and love you.

Cheez was open, honest, friendly and FUNNY. He could surprise you, irritate you and make you laugh in one encounter. He was always smiling and ready to get a smile out of everyone. He loved the Razorbacks and his family. His kids were tops on his list. I admired that about him, he LOVED his kids. He would tell of their texts and antics, drive the car (get a jump if necessary), and anything else to be with them. Prayers for the hurt and hole in their hearts and lives. Cherish the memories!!

Charles had an uncanny ability to make you laugh even when you necessarily didn't want to. He was kind to everybody that he met and had a contagious enthusiasm for life. People always walked away from an encounter with Charles with a smile on their face(probably laughing to the point of tears). He never met a stranger and could easily form lasting relationships with anybody and I believe that was Charles’ biggest gift to the world. Charles loved the razorbacks, making people laugh, and most importantly his 3 kids. I love you my friend and you will be greatly missed!
