Charles E. Cook

87, a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away October 29, 2006 at his home near Fayetteville. He was born July 17, 1919 at Cedar, West Virginia the son of Stewart H. and Fanny Rapp Cook.

Survivors include his wife, of sixty-nine years Eula K. Cook of the home; five sons, Jack L. Cook of Westville, Oklahoma, Terry R. Cook of Combs, Arkansas, Robert D. Cook of Goshen, Arkansas, Sherman Ray Cook of Summers, Arkansas, and Michael Cook of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; two daughters, Mary Nubbie of Westville, Oklahoma, and Sandra K Haney of Pineville, Missouri; one brother John Henry Cook Jr. of Omaha, Arkansas; one sister, Evelyn Thompson of Beaver, West Virginia; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Charles S. Cook.

Through his children and grandchildren he contributed to society teachers, dentist, police officer, ministers, biologist, computer programmer, Air National Guard Logistic Coordinator, Plumbers, Electricians, Beef Farmers, Dairy and Poultry Farmers and several grandchildren still in college. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his annual garden that flourished every year for the last seventy years, but most of all his family was his pride and joy. He taught his children to stand tall, work hard, and walk with pride. Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church and was baptized there in Beaver, West Virginia on June 14, 1931. When in High School he took up Amateur boxing where he won the Golden Glove title. He then took up with a good Ol boy band, they entered a music contest where the winner would perform at the Grand Ol Oprey. They were beat out by Little Jimmy Dickens. He then joined the Army and served in WWII. While in the Army, he served on the Army boxing team. He and his family moved to Arkansas in 1950. He was a supervisor for Campbell Soup until he retired. He will be loved and missed by all his family and friends.

Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens at Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Charlie was a very kind hearted and loving person. He was always there for you when needed. He could tell the best stories and his laughter would fill a room and always made you feel welcome. I Love and miss you Charlie, but I know you are in the Lords arms now. Our prayers and love are with you and your family forever.
