Charlie Anderson

81 of Prairie Grove, AR passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Charlie was born on October 22, 1944, in Los Angeles, California to Robert and Eunice Anderson. He was one of nine children and grew up in west Texas. He graduated from Midland High School and received an associate’s degree in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Charlie enlisted in the Army in 1962 where he was stationed in France and was honorably discharged in 1968. It was love at first sight when Charlie locked eyes with Wanda at Brasuell Trucking Company in 1981 in Midland, TX and they were married on September 18, 1981. Much of his career, Charlie drove eighteen wheelers where a good part of that was in the oil field.

Charlie had a passion for dirt track racing – the roar of engines, the thrill of watching his son, and the community that came with it were among his greatest joys. Whether it was watching from the stands or helping in the pits, it was a love that never faded. In quieter moments he was often found enjoying a game of online poker or watching old westerns. Above all else, his greatest treasure was time spent with family and friends as nothing made him happier than a competitive game of dominos.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eunice Anderson, his siblings, Bobby Anderson, Birt Anderson, Jean Hildreth, Norma Dean Anderson, Yvonne Sites, and Juanita Stokes.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Wanda Anderson, his children, Paulette Anderson, Ann Phillips, Stan Anderson and wife, Kim, his granddaughter, Myranda Holloway and husband, Cody, and his great-granddaughter, Kynzley, and two brothers, Melvin Anderson and Kenny Anderson, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, AR from 1:00PM to 2:00PM on Sunday, April 26, 2026. There will be no funeral or graveside service.
