When I’m gone When I come to the end of my journey And I travel my last weary mile, Just forget if you can, that I ever frowned And only remember the smile Forget unkind words I have spoken; Remember some good I have done. Forget that I ever had heartache And remember I’ve had loads of fun. Forget that I’ve stumbled and blundered And sometimes fell by the way. Remember I have fought some hard battles And won, ere the close of the day. Then forget to grieve for my going, I would not have you sad for a day, But in summer just gather some flowers And remember the place where I lay, And come in the shade of evening When the sun paints the sky in the west. Stand for a few moments beside me And remember only my best. Words can never express enough for you and your families loss, may the Lord comfort and keep you by his side always! always! With reguards, SFC Bain

I've been thinking about all of the good times we had and looking at all of the pictures we have taken, and all I can think about is that your life was cut so short and we had so many more memories to share. Dear Kilroy Family, Chris came to Waldron High School for the past several years to talk to the students in my history classes about joining the military, and he would conduct instruction on the history of the flag and flag etiquette. He was a delightful young man to have in class, and he always encouraged the students to do their best in school and life. He would tell them that the military was not for everyone, but it had been good for him. Chris talked about his family with pride. I looked forward to his visits at school. He will be missed. I pray that you will find comfort through the love of family, friends and faith during this tragic time. Cindy Franklin

He used to get so wound up during the football games that nobody could understand him. He broke his jaw and finished the game, before going to get it checked out.In track the coach made him run hurdles ....forgetting only that nobody taught him......He took what he had and made the best of it, smiling all the while. He was one of the best hearted people you could ever hope to meet. He will be missed.

My wife, Julie and I want to express our sympathy to the entire Kilroy family. I had worked with Chris for approx. 2 or so years while assigned to R&R CMD. I had always enjoyed being around Chris and that huge smile and happy-go-lucky attitude of his. Julie had met Amber during breakfast at the R&R's State meeting in Hot Springs and really expressed how much she enjoy her visit with this family. They really made a wonderful impression on both of us. We realize that even though we all can find comfort in Chris' salvation, the road ahead will still be tough to travel, but, with only GOD's help it can be made. May God bless and provide peace to the entire Kilroy family during this time. Tom and Julie Osborn

Chris, I was and always will be known for talking, but this is very hard. I dont know how or where to find the words. For a friendship that only started 5 years ago, I am proud to be able to call you one of my TRUE friends! I enjoyed those days of calling eachother and complaining about all the BS in recruiting, that and us both looking to one another for a reason to stay in it, I think is what made us so close. So close that I was one of the Elite, that you chose to assist in laying you to eternal rest. You dont know how Honored I am, that of all the friends I know you have, you chose me. The last thing I want to do right now is let you and your family down and it tears my heart out to say this but, I am unable to be there because of my job. I thought it was gonna be a go but it turned out we were unable to get coverage. I want to encourage everyone to remember the good times that we had w/ you, cause Lord knows if you were around it was gonna be a good time. Wow, to think of all the good times we have had together. Once again, I find myself not knowing what to say. I do want to say, from the Flood family, many thoughts and prayers go out to Amber the boys and the rest of the family. Miss Ya & Love Ya Bro!!!

There are only a few people in my life who when I reflect on our times together, I can think of only times of happiness and hilarity. You are one of those friends Chris.... I cannot think of a time we spent together that was not filled with whatever light hearted fun you would whimsically pull off at the moment! I'm smiling right now just thinking of such times :) Although we are filled with a deep sorrow as we mourn our loss in your passing, you will be remembered in moments of happiness and good times by friends with full, laughing hearts. You will be remembered with kind spoken words. You will be remembered by friends in toast with lifted glass. You will be remembered in dedicated "silly-sung-songs" and our best impersonated "Jersey Accents." :) You will be remembered by the friends who you always made smile. Thank you for those memories Chris....

Amber,I don't know when I have been so shocked and saddened by someone's death. It is so upsetting to know that Chris is gone. I have been praying for you since I heard about it, and also for your children who are deprived of a very special father. I am praying for you to know and feel the arms of your heavenly Father as you go through this grief.

Kilroy - Honestly, you are an amazing person. I have never met a person that doesn't have 1 flaw and I honestly can't think of one about you. You were the most geniune and friendly person that I've ever met. It's said so many times that I don't want it to be taken with a grain of salt, but you truly are a person that brings joy to every room. You're a joy to be around and I was always remember you for who you are....which is so positive that it can't be expressed in words. Your mark on a short lived life is unmistakable and you set a bar that none of us can achieve. God speed.

I have known Chris for years and he always lived life to the fullness. His smile and attitude would always light up the room and it would encourage others to do the same. I have many memories that we shared together and he will always be remember in my heart. Now God has taken him to a better place and I am sure he is smiling down upon us and saying something funny in that unique voice of his. I was truly honored to be able to be a part of his memorial. Amber your family is in our prayers.

As we look for answers on why you had to leave us so soon, I pray life is now sweet for you and you surrounded by the love of the father that you certainly deserve. To have the seen the support from family, friends and your Military brothers, would have surely made you proud. We too, are proud of the person you are and your legacy will live through the good works you have accomplished, and the foundation you have placed. You will be sorely missed and we love you dearly.

I was so deeply shocked at Chris' death. When I was informed, I could not believe it, and in fact, thought that it was a mistake and they had confused him for someone else. Chris was a good friend and a great man. He will be truly missed here at the VA and in Lincoln. I will never forget his unmistakable laugh and sense of humor. He spoke of his children and his wife often and with the greatest of love. He knew he was truly blessed.
