Dr. James Ike Quinn
Obituary
Dr. James Ike Quinn, age 59, a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away April 16, 2013 at his home. He was born April 30, 1953 in Fairbanks, Alaska, the son of Orvie Garvis and Jennie Elizabeth James Quinn.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
James grew up in the Fairbanks and North Pole Alaska areas. He attended the Eielson Air Force Base school district and was a graduate of Eielson High School. He had a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks and worked part and full time as a Fisheries Biologist for the State of Alaska on the Susitna Hydro-Electric Project.
On June 4, 1982, James married Deborah Lorraine Thoma of Anchorage, Alaska, in the home of his good friends, Kurt and Carla Maxwell. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on September 1, 1983.
James moved to the main land United States in October 1983, where he attended Boise State University, receiving a teacher’s certification in science, math and social studies, history was his favorite. Then in late 1988 he began his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer Chiropractic University in Davenport, Iowa.
Jim is survived by his wife Deborah Quinn; three sons, Dr. Orie M. Quinn and Ezra R. Quinn both of Fayetteville, Arkansas and James D. Quinn of America; one daughter, Tara J. Kelsey of Fayetteville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Gabriel Quinn, Tyler Josephine Quinn, Aiden Quinn and Spencer Quinn.
