James was the most caring, loving, good hearted man I have had the pleasure to meet and get to know. James would help anyone in need, even if he wasn't feeling good or was in pain. He was a great person who will be missed by very many people and especially his family. Though he is gone, we can take confort in knowing he is no longer suffering and in pain. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this hard time. My God Bless all of you and may James be at peace in Heaven. My sincere condolances, Lori Blankenbaker.

James, I am really going to miss you. I will miss your great sense of humor, willingness to help others without complaint of your own pain or suffering. I'm going to miss you stopping by the house to say "hello" when you were in the neighborhood. I don't want to say goodbye my friend. You're to young to go. But God has other plans for you so I must say farewell until we meet again. Love, Katie

Growing Up As James' Neighbor: I always knew that he was there for me. He was part of my everyday life, like my own family. I could call when I was scared of a storm, he would come to the house and stay; he would fix the go-cart for me to ride; he would make sleds for me to slide. He took me to school when I missed the bus; all these things with a cheerful heart; never a gripe, never a fuss. This is only to name a few things, I probably don't know half of what he did - oh the ignorance of being a kid. But I always knew he was there like family. - Rest in peace dear neighbor. You blurred the line between family and friend. May I be a loving neighbor like you.
