Obituary

John Max Thurman
70 a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away August 14, 2006 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. He was born September 21, 1935 at Prairie Grove Arkansas, the son of Clarence and Lillie Franks Thurman.

He was a member of the Sheridan Ave United Methodist Church in Tulsa. Max was retired from Western Uniform and Towel and American Waste.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Billy Cale Thurman.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Louise Cook of the home; one son, Greg Thurman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two daughters, Teresa Roberts of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Becky Porter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 17, 2006 from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Sheridan Avenue United Methodist Church - 1621 N Sheridan Road - Tulsa, Oklahoma, with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Grave side services will be held Friday, August 18, 2006 - 10:00 a.m. at the Prairie Grove Cemetery Pavilion in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Brandon Roberts, Jeremy Porter, Nathan Lee, Jeff Brown, Francisco Rodriguez, and Charles Roberts.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Ward, Earl Russell, Jack Hougland and Kenneth Petty.
