Obituary
Joseph Henry Griffin Jr.
82 a resident of Evansville, Arkansas, passed away October 15, 2006 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born April 28, 1924 at Wellington, Texas, the son of Joseph Henry and Donnie Willis Griffin.
J. H. served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a former 32nd degree Mason. He was a truck driver for Willis Shaw for over 20 years until his retirement. After retirement he worked on his farm in Evansville.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Seward;
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Howland Griffin of the home; two daughters, Cindy Seward of Dutch Mills, Arkansas, and Jan Wilhite and her husband Roger of Stilwell, Oklahoma; three sons and daughters in law, Jason and Kathy Griffin of Evansville, Arkansas, Henry and Carol Griffin of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and Thorne and Belva Griffin of Stilwell, Oklahoma; one brother and sister in law, Willis and Shirley Griffin of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and many other loved ones, and a special dog “Uglee”.
Family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00-8:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday October 17, 2006 - 10:00 A.M. at the Luginbuel Chapel Prairie Grove, Arkansas, with burial in Academy Cemetery near Evansville, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to the Academy Cemetery 21383 S Hwy 59 Evansville, Arkansas 72729
Pallbearers will be Henry Griffin, Thorne Griffin, Jason Griffin, Sean Seward, Jeffrey Griffin and Nathan Griffin.
