It's very strange for me to be writing this knowing that sweet Kara is at home in Heaven with our loving Father. That is the comfort in this very tough time...that she is healed. God did answer my prayer for her healing, just not in the way we would have preferred. It is wonderful to see the community support and the love that surrounded Kara and continues to surround her family. What an inspiration! We will continue to pray for your family.

As you look at all the tributes you quickly realize that Kara was a very unique individual. She was greatly loved and treasured by so many. We have learned so much from her fight to live life to the fullest. We have learned the fight against cancer is never easy but with prayer and God in our lives we will be victorious in the end. Her family has been awesome and their love for her helped her endured all she went through. They showed us courage and strength, love and faith, diginity and endurance. But above all they taught us that you can take one life and bring a community together in prayer. Not only did they bring together a community but the prayer warriors were across this great country and even overseas. To her family I can only say, we in no way understand the grief you are feeling, but as was posted on facebook, let us celebrate the life of such a beautiful, loving, caring, strong and courageous individual. Thank you for sharing her with all of us right up to the end. God bless you all and know that one day the reunion will be so great that we can not even imagine the beautiful day it will be. Rest In Peace sweet Kara, knowing that we have all learned so much through this journey with you.

I was lucky enough to have met Kara last Thanksgiving. Her mom and I had lunch then went to the Post Office to meet her. Linda had told me about how she had been fighting cancer. I was so amazed with her and her courage. With all that was wrong she seemed more worried about her hair coming in curley instead of straight. She was a beautiful woman with so much courage. Her children will have great memories of their mom and the fight she gave to stay here on earth. Heaven has gained a beautiful strong Angel.

As we all know Kara was always there for people. I think that right now she's looking down from heaven in happiness that her daughter doesn't have to see her in pain anymore. Its amazing how one person can bring a community together and forget about what they need and try everything for her. I only met Kara once and she is the one person I looked at and said I love her already! It doesn't take much from Kara to lightning peoples day all she did was smile and people would feel better! So sorry to hear of your loss I know at this time there are no words that can comfort the loss of a love one but we want you to know that we are thinking of you and our prayers are with you and David and the rest of your family.

My wonderful memories of Kara are of a kind, smart, thoughtful, and happy fifth grader. How incredibly heart-warming to hear that this lovely girl grew up to be all the things and more that I saw in her in a fifth grader. My deepest sympathy and prayers to her family. Fondly, Pam Cockrum

We are truly sorry for your loss. Kara blessed everyone that came in contact with her. She made you a better person just by knowing her. Her smile lit up the room. Please know that we are praying for you all daily. Mom and dad are currently out of the country and so sorry that they were not able to attend Kara's memorial.

To the McConnell Family: I am deeply sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. Especially when we see someone so young it is very heart wrenching because their life was cut short. Yet I am encouraged by the Bible's message of hope even for those who leave us. Because of the sin of Adam and Eve we all inherited sin and death. Yet our loving heavenly Father made provisions for us by means of his son, Jesus. (Romans 6:23) We can look forward to the time when all those in the memorial tombs will hear Jesus voice and come out.(John 5:28,29) May you each find comfort in knowing that one day all this sadness and sorrow, pain and even death will be no more. (Revelations 21:4,5)

I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are never alone. You can find much comfort in the Holy Scriptures which assures us at Psalms 34:18 that God is near to those broken at heart and crushed in spirit. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
