ONNIE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR EXPANDING THE NEW HOPE CHURCH. HE WAS A VERY NICE MAN AND HUSBAND TO BARBARA, WHO WAS DEBBIE VERSER AND I'S SINGING PARTNER. HE ALWAYS CAME WITH HER WHEN WE PRACTICED. WILL MISS HIM.
JACKIE HALL WEILAND - FRIEND

Onnie was a nice and generous man. He never failed to give me a hard time everytime he seen me and I enjoyed every minute of it. He is definitely going to be missed. The Lord gained a wonderful soul when he stepped through Heavens gate.

My Dad.. it's been hard to face life without him. He's always been with me for 60 years. It's hard to lose the first man you loved, someone I thought was the bravest man in the world. He rescued me from midnight monsters, boys who weren't right for me, and spiders.
The man who taught me right from wrong, forgave me when I messed up and always loved me in spite of myself.
As I sat and watched him breathe, watched him wrinkle his brow ( one of the few things he did be it from pain or involuntary) I watched and recorded this moment away... knowing it was some of the last experiences I would ever have with my dad.
I find myself going to the phone to call him then realizing..... or driving by his house then I keep staring at it long after I pass it looking to see if he would raise the garage door for me. Or perhaps he would be mowing.... Then i realize..... it is just a house white and lonely looking.
I want to say Thank you to everyone for reaching out to me. It means the world. Your love and support is a true blessing.
My life will never be the same. My role model is gone. My heart aches for the times we shared. Being his little girl. I wish I could have those days again.
I know Dad is in a better place. Someday I will be in a better place.... But for now I miss him. I loved my Dad even more than I knew. He was the man I compared others to. The man who listened and gave his opinions on what I should do. A Dad who loved me and my siblings and worked hard every day to provide for us.
I realize how truly blessed we were to have him as our Dad. I love you Dad.
One day I pray that we'll stroll over heaven hand in hand. As we did when I was little and you lead me hand in hand.
