Tributes

I enjoyed working with Lou for years and had a lot of respect for her and counted her as a friend. She will be missed.
Pam - Friend

Lou Ellen was such a fun and spunky lady. She spoke her mind and we loved her for that. She was witty and sassy and with that told the best stories and shared some really fun memories. She is loved by all and will be very much missed.
Galen and Brenda - cousin

Lou, this is more a tribute to the love, respect & closeness that has kept the Pettigrew family together all the years that we have been separated by miles. We have always been able to come together and have a great time even if it was for funerals. I remember at Clinton's funeral when the pastor remarked on how we seemed to be able to laugh and enjoy each other in spite of the passing of one of us. It is true, and maybe because even though we are going to the next life one by one, we stay connected with our hearts and souls. So this may be good bye in a physical sense, but it will never be good bye in our hearts. I just want to say, as you are laid to rest, that I love you, and I am sure you know that. Rest easy Lou; I am sure I will be joining you in a few years.
Love from your oldest Sis, Mary
Maridell Mays - Sister

Aunt Lou, I would love to sit here and type about all the things I cherish about you, that I admire you for but there will not be enough room! It is said that stars are openings in Heaven where our loved ones can look down on us. I believe that. Another Angel earned her wings yesterday when you left to be with God. I'm amazed at the strength and dignity you carried right to the end. The love you gave so freely yesterday was so comforting. All of us are left with a hole in our hearts but I want to say it is for the cherished memories to pour back in...the laughter, beauty, love, and comfort you gave so freely to all of us our whole lives through. Don and I say Hi still yet, no good byes...just simple love. Our family will pray for comfort to all...
Janet Pettigrew-Elliott - Niece
