Obituary

Louise Alexander (70) of Fayetteville, unexpectedly died September 11, 2025 following an intense battle with multi-organ failure. At the end, her body was too damaged and diminished to withstand the rigors of organ transplant surgery and it’s long follow-up recovery.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard Black, his and her family members, and many close friends she made living her life and working for 38 years as an Elementary School Counselor in the Springdale Schools.

Louise loved traveling, ALL animals, helping young children and physical exercise. She taught aerobics classes at night and weekends for many years. Until her recent, intense illness, she worked out five days a week at a local gym. She considered herself “a gym rat.” When asked what her favorite pastime was she would always answer, “working out at the gym.”

Enormous gratitude goes to all doctors, nurses and staff associated with Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas and OU Health and Transplant Institute in Oklahoma City for their care and support during this difficult time.

There will be no public service. A private memorial of close friends and family will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of the Ozarks or your local animal shelter.

Arrangements were handled by Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove.
