Lynne Colby George King
59 died on August 26, 2006 at her home. Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to Elfriede and Stephen Joseph George.
Lynne grew up in South Florida before moving to Pensacola for her nursing education at Sacred Heart School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse for the U.S. Army Nursing Corps and an R.N. in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Lynne earned her B.A. and Master’s degrees from the University of Arkansas. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Prairie Grove.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, John E. King, two sons Michael King, Ph.D., of Atlanta and Dr. David King, D.O., and his wife Seleste of Tulsa, four grandchildren Connor, Meiah, Colby, and Mason, her parents Elfriede and Stephen George of Los Fresnos, Texas, two brothers Raymond and Cathy George (Arlington, VA) and Stephen George Jr. (South Carolina), and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made “In Memory of Lynne” to the Ozark Guidance Center Foundation, the University of Arkansas School of Social Work, the First Presbyterian Church of Prairie Grove, or your favorite charity.
The family will receive visitors at the First Presbyterian Church of Prairie Grove from 7:00 until 9:00 PM on Monday, August 28.
A memorial service for Lynne will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 29 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.
