Obituary
Mary Ellen Woods, age 91, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014. She was born September 11, 1922 in Summit, Arkansas, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Gilliland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers, including James Gilliland of Fayetteville.
Mrs. Woods was retired from Levi Strauss and a member of Second Baptist Church of Fayetteville.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Woods of the home; a daughter, Francis Hayes Bercher and husband Tom of Wisconsin; a son, Chester O. Hayes and wife Jan of West Fork, Arkansas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday at Moore’s Chapel. There will be a private burial at Farmington Cemetery.
The family would like to express special thanks to the wonderful caregivers and to the staff at Washington Regional Hospice.
