Obituary
Mary Jane (Jones) Maloney was born on July 16, 1927 in Holdenville, OK. She was the daughter of James Oather Jones and Ruby Maude (Wells) Jones. She made her heavenly home going on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
Jane married Carl William Maloney on September 22, 1950 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. They raised 5 children at Cane Hill and Dutch Mills, Arkansas. She was a 4-H leader for many years while her children were growing up.
Carl and Jane owned Maloney Feed and Supply for several years in Lincoln. Jane took a Wilton cake decorating class and fell in love with decorating cakes. That started her career as a cake decorator. She pursued more classes from Wilton and achieved Master Cake Decorator which led Jane to open La Petite Bakery in Lincoln. She trained more people on the Wilton method than anyone else in the state of Arkansas and was inducted into the Wilton Cake Decorating Hall of Fame.
Jane was passionate about helping others and volunteered with the local Emergency Medical Service for many years. After Carl’s death in 1993, she volunteered with hospice in Fayetteville, at age 66 in her words, “taking care of old people.” She was also a volunteer at Washington Regional Hospital for many years.
She loved making things for other people. One of her projects was making schnoodles for preemies in the NICU and activity boards for stroke patients. While at Bartlesville Assisted Living she made sure that each resident got a pillow or lap quilt for their birthday. She made bags for old bags to hold plastic shopping bags for the staff and a variety of other things. She also made many quilts and pillows for the Owasso children’s home. During COVID, Jane organized the residents at BAL in making over 1,000 masks.
As a breast cancer survivor, Jane was active in a local group called The Pink Divas. The group raised money to support local women fighting breast cancer by providing food and transportation during treatment. She was also a supporter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation raising money and promoting breast cancer prevention and awareness.
Jane is survived by three children and their spouses, Sharon and Merle Bacon of Bartlesville, OK.; Walter and Joyce Maloney of Fayetteville, AR.; and Marie and Michael England of Bossier City, LA. Grandchildren: Patty, Sandy, Audrey, Amy, Alicia, Michael M., Bryan, Alandra, Stacey, Michael E. and Anna, as well as 21 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Carl, son David, grandson William, daughter Aquilla and grandson Gary.

Tributes
My family will be forever grateful for what Jane did for our mother as she entered into the nursing home. It was a difficult transition, but she would pray with mom as she had a prayer group going on there. She had mom involved in helping her with the gifts she was making for the nurses until mom could no longer do it. They became roommates and when dad was dying she was there as we picked up mom to hug and comfort her. After dad passed she was there for mom when we brought her back. We knew she was in good hands with Jane which gave us much comfort. I have often thought of Jane and wondered how she was doing. Prayers for your family. May God comfort you as Jane comforted us is our prayer.
