By Therrel Pennel- (As told to Debbie his daughter Monday_ Paul was one of the good ones. Paul and I worked together at Longview Fiber Company in California in the 1950's. Paul was a hard worker, energetic and fun. Just a good Christian boy. Paul & Glenna, Sue and I all lived together when we first left Arkansas to go to California. It was 1953 and Sue and I were just Teenagers. Paul and I rode to work together everyday because he was the only one who had a car. Paul and I never had trouble of any kind. Never a harsh word between us. And, that was kind of unusual for me back then, because I usually had some kind of trouble with everyone. Glenna was a pretty and sweet little thing. There were several of us from Arkansas who lived in a little court of houses there in Mayfield, CA. Junior & Anna, Connie & Dolly and Sue and I. We would all get together and eat at one another's house and play games. We were all broke, but we didn't know it. Paul bought a good used car. It was a Chevy Convertible, it was the only transportation Sue and I had. We all thought we were top notch riding around in that cream color chevrolet convertible in California. Yep, that Paul was a good one.

Paul and I were close friends and classmates at Stilwell, OK high school. We shared many classes and many high school friends. We often rode the school bus to and from school. He invited me for an overnight stay in their home. It was a pleasure to enjoy the evening with Paul and his parents. He loved Glenda and I am thankful for his long friendship. A friend forever.
