I too feel this great loss you and your childresn are feeling at this moment. I know my prayers will help in some way to hold you all up. It will be a long journey for all of you but to know you have many friends and alot of people to help you out there to pick you up if you feel the need greater than you can handle there is many that would always be there to put out a hand- and I am also one that would always be there to help in whatever way you need it lora...I know you are going to someday need just a hug or a person just to talk to or just to have nothing in this world to do nothing in perticularly do nothing with but maybe just talk to that remembers all those happier days. I do remember all those special days we all had together. The kids have grown up so strong and have known the lord jesus christ so they may become stronger ...I will always be there for them too. Rick can't be gone! He has just always been there. Been there when WE needed HIM.
Been there for years as a friend. I won't have anyone to exchange hot stock tips with anymore! We were always having friendly political arguments about our opposing party beliefs. Now I won't be able to call and rib him when someone in his favorite party does something despicable. That was always so much fun.
Rick was so intelligent, it wasn't often I could get the better of him. He was a kind, generous person. He was so kind, he let my husband hang out at the pawn shop day after day. Now.......what am I supposed to do with my husband????????
When my husband met Rick, they found out their birth dates were the same. After that, it seemed like they were joined at the hip. So our 2 families spent lots of time together and I had the privilege of watching all of the children grow up. I even got to welcome Crystal home from the hospital with her first birthday cake. (Not on her first birthday, but on her date of birth). I always was a little confused...
Then there were the meals we enjoyed out together, piling into the van with the usual conversation all the way to town, "Where do we want to eat?" "I don't care, where do you want to eat?" This went on and on until we eliminated the places we didn't want to eat and Rick usually just picked one since he was driving. If it was El Chico, Little Richard was sure to flip food across the room with his fork. If it was the old Shoney's by the Mall, Lora and I were sure to send the steak back 3 times. If it was a certain Italian resturant, Crystal was sure to sneak food out of my plate and the owner would stand at the end of the table and stare because we were eating too many bread sticks. (They are now out of business.)
How can someone responsible for so many wonderful memories and so many wonderful children be gone? My husband and I must have told Lora and the children more than a hundred times that we will do whatever we can to help her and we will and we are. She knows that.
During my life I consider that I have had a multitude of acquaintences, but my friends are few. I have always numbered Rick among those few whom I considered "friend".
This friend will never be gone! He will be alive in the hearts and minds of all of us who knew and loved him as long as we exist.
Lora, we love you.

There are no words to express the sadness that we share with you during this time... Rick was an awesome person, he never failed to get those Girl Scout papers copied for us when we needed them and he did it at no cost, and no one could make a key like Rick could... his generosity never stopped he helped me out with the use of a dvd player for the long trips to Little Rock for Adrianna's doctors appointments... he will be greatly missed in this world... we can only hope that we see him again in Heaven someday.. God bless you all and lift you up during this time of sadness... and if you need me I will always be there for you... to Rick's children I say he was so proud of you.. keep your heads high and dont ever stop reaching for the dreams that your Dad help you start... to Lora I say Rick loved you so much... there is hard times ahead but with the strength you have found throughout raising your 4 wonderful children you will continue to love and care for the most wonderful memories you have of Rick his children.. we love you and we will keep you in our prayers...

I went to school with Ricky for 12 years. I knew his Mom & Dad, and went to his Dad's store with my Mom growing up. It saddens me to realize I never really knew who he was. I am glad he had such a beautiful family. And I wish them the comfort only Our Father in Heaven can give them.
Rest in peace dear Ricky.
