Jackie Starr - Family Friend
Roberta was one of the finest women I have known. She was a wonderful, loving friend and amazing neighbor. She and Bob were like second parents to my late, former husband Pete and myself. I will always treasure the many memories I have of both Bob and Roberta. My sincerest condolences to the entire family.
Renee Perry - Family Friend

Susan Leslie Donahue - Daughters Of The Confederacy
My family - the Carl grandparents, parents Lena &Dolph Helm, and aunts Sarah Carl and Katleen Harlan, were relatives and close friends with the Cummings family. My memories of the sisters, Mary, Emily, Lucy and your sweet mother , Roberta , are very special. Some of them were always present at church and family events. The world has lost much rich tradition with their passing. From my sisters and myself, prayers and peace.

I personally find it a daunting task to properly honor, in these words, the life of someone like Roberta Cummings Tucker – a genuine Southern Lady who enjoyed a long life, but more importantly a well-lived life. According to the Holy Bible, a strong indicator of how well we are aligned with God is revealed in the FRUIT of our spirit, namely LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS and SELF-CONTROL. In the 30 plus years that I knew Roberta, I can honestly say that I saw many, if not ALL, of these qualities displayed on an almost daily basis. When I left this family more than ten years ago, I was prepared to be treated differently by Roberta and understandably so. However, she would have no part of that, again revealing through what must have been a most heart-wrenching spiritual test, her genuine, kind and TRULY selfless nature. Another quality that Roberta so powerfully displayed was how she so steadfastly loved, honored and supported her lifelong husband and friend Bob Tucker. To this day Roberta’s long-lived and high-quality marriage to Bob represents (to ME) the EPITOME of what a successful marriage is all about. Last week, some friends and I were discussing how each of us has the potential to change this world when we inspire like-minded people to follow our lead in taking on a common and worthwhile cause. I believe that Roberta’s well-lived Christian life validates this concept, as evidenced by the many people whose lives she touched and influenced in such a positive and substantive way. In closing, my life was significantly and positively improved by Roberta’s GENUINE and LOVING spirit. Her passing marks a dreaded and sad day in my life, as she has always represented the higher and better nature that exists within each and every one of us. The passing of Roberta leaves me diminished, but the timeless example of her well-lived and loving life also impresses upon me the importance of living a life that is in alignment with God. I am confident that her lovely soul was greeted with the message “well done, good and faithful servant”.
