Obituary
Ronald Nelson "Shorty" Boyd was born July 17, 1948 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the son of Wayne Oval and Viola Sarah Atha Boyd.
He was married to Willa Jean Jeanie McAdoo Boyd on February 15, 1975.
Shorty died on June 17, 1989 at the age of 40 while on duty at the Round Mountain Fire Department near Fayetteville, Arkansas. After his death he was inducted into the Arkansas Fallen Firefighters Memorial which is dedicated to the memories of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives in the line of duty.
His son, Dwayne was with his father when he died and now continues as a Firefighter with the West Fork Fire Department.
