Obituary

TALLEY, children - {from The Prairie Grove Herald] The two little
children of Mrs. Talley, and grand-children of Rev. Hackler, who were
reported last week as being sick with small-pox, have both died since that
time. Mrs. Talley, with her two little children, a girl about 20 months old
and a little boy eight months of age, arrived at her parents’ home at Lincoln
April 2nd on a visit. The children were not well when they arrived. The
little girl had been suffering with catarrhal fever and this: had made her
very weak. Some days afterwards the children broke out with smallpox,
but in a very light form. The little girl died last Saturday but the cause of
her death is attributed more to the catarrhal fever than smallpox. The
little boy was recovering from the smallpox when he contracted pneumonia
and his death resulted yesterday morning. [The Springdale News 4/27/1906]
