Sherry Lou Bannister

54 a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord on June 12, 2011 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. She was born May 28, 1957 in Lindenhurst, New York, the daughter of Gerard E. and Eileen M Politz Stutzman.

Our beloved Sherry departed this old world and united with her Heavenly Father on June 12, 2011 at 8:30 P.M. in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Many wonderful things can be said in reference to Sherry and her well admired and treasured life while here on this earth for the short 54 years. Generosity could never truly describe Sherry as she was one of the most compassionate and caring people to everyone's lives she touched with her presence. Sherry was a giver of her love and many talents and responded to any need that arose within her fellow man. Sherry leaves behind her much beloved significant other and love of her life, Leland Cox to carry on her beautiful traditions and wonderful ways. Sherry's personal hobbies which always involved extraordinary talents were donating to the less fortunate, contributing to any spiritual need she could, arts and crafts, painting, studying the word of God intensively, traveling with Leland, and staying in touch with all her friends and family.

Sherry was one of the most open minded and positive people you would ever know and always had a warm heart with a tremendous amount of utmost compassion for everyone. Sherry also held her brothers, sisters, friends and Leland Cox (love of her life) in her heart every second of the day and night.

Sherry was a great financial contributor to St. Judes Children’s Hospital and other children's ministries throughout the world. She was also a volunteer for any type of benefit that would help the less fortunate and her community.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father and mother and one brother, Edward Stutzman.

Survivors include the love of her life, Leland Cox; one son, Ryan Green of Florida; three brothers, Gerald Stutzman, Ronnie Stutzman and Bobby Stutzman; two sisters, Judy Crosby and Suzie Knies all of Florida.

Tributes

Sherry, I don't even know where to begin. You were the sweetest person and I know that my boys (your grandbabies) loved you more than you knew, especially little Trenton. I am thankful to have been able to of known you these past five years and share holidays with you and my dad. Thank you for being here for me when I needed you. I know you are in a better place and looking down on us now. I also know that you didn't want to leave my dad, but our Savior had bigger and better plans for you. Now you are out of pain and in peace. I love you so much and will miss you forever. Don't worry about Little Bit, dad will take great care of him. Laura and I will take care of dad until we meet again.

I first met Sherry years ago when Fred's grandpa had Lincoln Water Services. I can say without hesitation she was one of the kindness, most giving and most understanding folks Lincoln will ever have the joy of knowing. No matter what, she was always there to answer any crazy question I had. The Lincoln Water office will never be the same, she never fussed about having to look up a bill, or figure out what or how I had gotten it wrong. When Fred's grandpa passed away I was very comforted by the card she sent in the mail and the note she put inside was more comfort to me than she could have ever imagined. The city of Lincoln truly misses her smiling face and her kindness. So I will not say goodbye just so long for now... I will see you again soon. To her family I say even though I do not know you I know your hearts are heavy, but she suffers no more from her earthly pain but instead is enjoying her heavenly joy. God bless and we will pray for God to give you comfort in the days ahead.

Sherry was a special person, so sweet and caring. She always had a sweet smile. She was so happy about her relationship with Leland. Leland, I know that you loved her so much and took such good care of her until the end. That is something Sherry hadn't had in the 20 something years I had know her. God will bless you for it. I just found out Sherry had past and am totaly shocked,I can't beleive she has left us but knowing she is with our heavenly Father does help. I have known Sherry for many years, not close friends, but friends.Yes she was someone you never forget. She was always smiling and so kind. Knowing alittle of her life in earlier years I wondered how she could be so sweet and kind hearted.I'm also glad she had a good man by her side, she deserved the best.Yes I along with many others will miss her greatly.I just can't beleive she gone.
