Hermon Lee Cox

Age 85, a resident of Summers, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born October 21, 1939 in Lincoln, Arkansas, the son of Carl Henry and Gertrude Helen (Wilson) Cox.

He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Dutch Mills and had served as a Gideon, sharing his faith and supporting the mission of Bible distribution. Hermon was always quick to answer the call to serve, whether it was filling the pulpit, teaching a Sunday School class, or preaching a funeral when asked. He was more than willing to share the Word of God and was deeply committed to his faith and calling.

Hermon was a hardworking man of deep faith and quiet strength. He retired from Jones Truck Lines after 30 years of service. A lifelong resident of the area, Hermon was also a dedicated cattle farmer, faithfully tending his land throughout his life. He also volunteered delivering meals for the Lincoln Senior Center, always looking for ways to give back to the community he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Michael Cox and Leonard Cox; two brothers, Alfred Cox and Theron Cox; and a nephew, Keith Cox.

Hermon is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Juanita McClain Cox; one son, Stephen Cox and his wife Mary; one daughter-in-law, Geraldine Cox; four grandchildren, Carrie McBane and husband Tommy, Kimberly Holt and husband Tim, Aaron Cox and wife Melissa, and Brittney Sanford and husband Kyle; eleven great-grandchildren, Dakotah, Draven, and Kaydance Glisson, Ayden, Gavyn, and Trevyn Holt, Harrison Cox, Noah Atha, Brenna, Mercy, and Hannah Sanford; and two nephews, Kent Cox and wife Carla, and Kevin Cox and wife Joey.

Hermon will be remembered for his strong faith, his love for family, and his steadfast commitment to serving others. His legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 10, 2025, 4:00-5:00 PM at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Monday, August 11, 2025, at Liberty Baptist Church in Lincoln, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Bethesda Cemetery in Morrow, Arkansas, there will be no grave side service held.

Pallbearers will be: Aaron Cox, Kyle Sanford, Tim Holt, Noah Atha, Tommy McBane and Draven Glisson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Rinehart, George Schooler, Hollis Barker, and Bill Cleary.
