Notes
KIMBROUGH, Sarah Elizabeth - Tribute of Respect - At a regular
meeting of Grumsey Grange No. 523 held on the 27th day of November
1875 the following resolutions were adopted on the death of our worthy
sister, Mrs. S.E. Kimbrough, who died near Dutch Mills, Washington county,
Arkansas October 23rd, 1875. Whereas it has pleased an Allwise Providence
to remove from us our highly esteemed sister and friend, Mrs. Sarah
Elizabeth Kimbrough; Therefore be it resolved, 1st. That in her death our
order has lost a valuable member, the community a most tender friend and
her husband and child an affectionate mother and wife. None knew her
but to love her. 2. That we tender to her bereaved husband and relatives
our heart-felt sympathies at this, their sad bereavement. 3. That in the
death of this amiable lady the community has lost one of her brightest
jewels, dutiful, affectionate, kind and patient. She filled all the relations of
daughter, sister, wife and mother; she was the idol of the family and en-
deared to every one who knew her; to family and friends she left the consoling
reflection that she went down into the valley and shadow of death
having no fears but with a full hope of blessed immortality beyond the
grave. Signed, W.T. Anderson, H.J. Walker, J.H. Greenhaw, G.I. Bennett,
Committee. [Fayetteville Democrat 1/15/76]
