J. Edley Ed. Hooper

J.E. Hooper was born Oct. 28, 1862 and died July 15, 1928. He was married to Ranal May Hill and to this union six children were born, four of whom are living and were present at his death. Hooper died in 1899 and on August 15, 1900 he was married to Marilda Cohea. To this union one child was born and died in infancy.
He was converted in early life and joined the Missionary Baptist church. He lived a consecrated Christian life, saying just a few hours before he died that he was ready to go, and when the end came it was without a struggle. Besides his wife an four children, he leaves one sister and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
Rev. John Parker, assisted by Rev. Sam Farmer, conducted the funeral and the body was laid to rest in the Rose cemetery.
