James "Terry" Rankin, 65 year-old resident of Decatur, Arkansas, died March 25, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center, Springdale, Arkansas. Born April 3, 1939, in Rogers, Arkansas, he was the son of James Ted Rankin and Ada Jewell Ball Rankin. He was a retired over the road truck driver for Wal-Mart and a member of the Gentry Church of Christ, Gentry, Arkansas. He married Bettie J. Van Fleet in Stilwell, Oklahoma on July 7, 1975. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Rankin.
Survivors include his wife Bettie of the home; three sons, Billy Rankin of Branson, Missouri, James Rankin and wife Penny of Lowell, Arkansas, Tommy Rankin, of Gentry, Arkansas; two step-sons, Ricky Brown of New Hampshire, and Randall Bryson of Decatur, Arkansas; three daughters, Rhonda Cox of Gentry, Arkansas, Tonya Tagg of Decatur, Arkansas, Taria Hannold of Gentry, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Beverly Harris and husband Dale of Decatur, Arkansas; 18 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; two sisters, Rema Lowe and husband Marvin of Gentry, Arkansas, and Jeanette Wood and husband Paul of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and caregiver, Penni Kumm.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Gentry Church of Christ, with Bruce Potter officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2005, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas
