Edith Loretta Vandever, 102 of Summers, AR, died March 4, 1999 at Woodland Manor Nursing Home in Siloam Springs, AR. Born Nov. 28, 1896 in Oolagah, OK, he was the daughter of Samuel Lincoln Willey and Sarah Idella Denny.
She was a member of the Summers Missionary Baptist Church and a Sunday School teacher for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Washington and second husband, John Vandever.
Survivors include three sons, Doyle Washington and Charles Washington both of Cincinnati and Ray Washington of Fayetteville. one daughter, Geraldine Collins of the Wedington community. Two step daughters, Dorothy Barboza and Marion Moore both of California; 7 grand children, 14 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren
Pallbears were Jerry Grisom, Bobby Carlton, Bob Washington, Robbie Washington and David Barboza. Honorary pallbearers were: Joe Collins, Tim Reed, Jessie Salazar, Ed Bailey, J.L. Barnes, Doyle Barnes, Sam Barnes, Gary Barnes and Juan Barnes.
