Ivy Nell Mitchell

Henderson, TN: Ivy Nell Mitchell Rankin age 93 passed away December 29, 2014 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born February 14, 1921 in Carroll County, the daughter of the late William Edgar and Eva Rumley Mitchell. She married Raymond Rankin who preceded her in death in 1969. She had made her home since the late 70's with her long-time companion, Cleatus Whitman, who preceded her in death in December of this year.

She was employed by Salant & Salant Mfg. for nine years. She loved growing flowers, working in her garden, picking peas, canning and was also a great cook. She was a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rankin is survived by a great niece, Brenda Mitchell of Henderson.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Mitchell, James Mitchell and Raymond Mitchell and four sisters, Florence Harbison, Ruth Weaver, Willie Brasher and Velma Brewer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors - Casey Chapel with Larry McBee officiating and burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 10:00 AM on Friday until service time at 11:00 AM.
