Herbert John Rankin

Served as a Hospital Stewart with the 1st US Volunteer Cavalry in Cuba and later in the Philippines at the 1st reserved hospital in Manila where he died from dysentery. Herbert had been a pharmacist prior to the US Army.

Served as a Rough Rider in the Spanish American War 1898 - 1902. died serving his Country.

Herbert John RANKIN, not knox ... His father was Colonel John Knox RANKIN ... mother was Laura Finney RANKIN. His brother by Laura was Robert Crawford Rankin.
