Notes
Linda Maye (Clark) Allen passed away on August 2, 2025. She was 77. Linda was born on October 3, 1947 in Springdale, AR to William Fay Clark and Vernie Esther (King) Clark.
The family immediately moved to Sibley, Missouri, but moved back to Springdale after a few years. Linda graduated from Springdale High School in 1965 and then attended a two-year business college in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She then returned to Springdale and began work in the IBM department of Jones Truck Lines. In 1971, she met Jim Allen while cruising the Vic Mon drive-in in her Firebird.
Jim and Linda were married on May 5, 1972. The couple had two children, James and Amy, and then started the business Allen Heating & Cooling, which served the Northwest Arkansas community for over 40 years. Linda did bookkeeping and administrative work for the business out of the home so that she could spend a lot of time with her kids. Linda loved being a wife and mom. She read hundreds of books to the kids when they were young, participated in games, and drove them to whatever lessons or practices they wanted to try. She was also an avid reader, loved to take photographs, and loved making arts and crafts. Linda knitted, crocheted, cross-stitched, sewed clothing, and tried many other crafts over the years from basket-weaving to huck-weaving to tole painting. She was a long-time member of the Johnson Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Fay and Vernie Clark, sisters Renda Lou Clark and Wanda (Clark) Boatright, along with brother-in-law, Robert Boatright, and nephew, Clark Boatright.
She is survived by her husband Jim, son James Allen, daughter Amy Allen, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.
