In memory of Billy John Stone
79, of London, AR, who went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville.
The son of Preston and Mary Irene Stone, he was born October 26, 1932 in Limestone. He married Betty Stone, on June 27, 1959 at the Flat Rock Assembly of God.
He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and the owner/operator of King & Company, Inc. His accomplishments included lobbying to bring city water to the Flat Rock community and designing and inventing in his machine shop. He was president of the Johnson County Water Association and a member of the Flat Rock Worship Center where he played guitar which he dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Ruby Sams.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Stone; son, Stanley Stone and wife Kim; daughter, Michelle Stone, all of Piney; three grandchildren, Lindsey Stone-Pitts of Bremerton, WA, Steven Stone, and Logen Stone, both of Piney; three sisters, Wilma Bartholomue of West Fork, Corena Stone Henderson of Houston, TX, and Betty Sue Stone Wright of Clarksville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Flat Rock Worship Center. Rev Chip Howington and Rev Ronnie Birge will officiate. Burial will be at Brock Cemetery in London by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M., on Monday, at the funeral home.
