Notes

Curtis Alan Jones

February 2, 1953 - March 10, 2026

Curtis Alan Jones

73, of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas on March 10, 2026.

Alan was born February 2, 1953, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and grew up on a dairy farm in Washington County. He was a lifelong cowboy with a love of rodeo and a passion for training and trading horses. As a skilled calf roper, Alan was a proud member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and traveled extensively in pursuit of the next engraved buckle and saddle. He lived large and enjoyed every mile of the ride.

Throughout his life, Alan wore many hats and wore them well. He worked as a farrier, dedicating his expertise to the care of horses he so deeply loved. He served the community as a Grader Operator with the Washington County Road Department, keeping the county's roads in order. He also served as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), answering the call when others needed help most. And true to his roots, Alan was a farmer a man of the land who never strayed far from where he came.

Later in life, Alan discovered a new passion on the fairways. He became an avid golfer, joining friends at the Tuesday Stone Bridge Meadows senior weekly golf scramble and embarking on numerous golf trips to the Florida Panhandle and the majestic mountains of Colorado. He was always ready to play another round.

Alan was loved by all and had a great sense of humor. He had a remarkable gift for friendship if you were lucky enough to find yourself in his presence, you were guaranteed to be laughing at a joke or an outrageous story. He was a great listener who had a rare ability to make everyone around him feel truly special.

Yet of all the roles Alan filled throughout his remarkable life -cowboy, farrier, farmer, EMT, and friend - none meant more to him than being "Pops" to his grandchildren. It was the title he wore with the most pride and the one that brought him the greatest joy.

He was preceded in death by his son, Clinton Jones; his father, Curtis H. Jones; and his mother, Evelyne Jones.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda; son Curt Jones; son Jason Pergeson (Chrissy); daughter Johna Frisard (L.J.); daughter-in-law Sara Terrell (Austin); and grandchildren Lilly Jones, Cashton Jones, Bella Pergeson, Ashlynn Frisard, Leon Frisard, Cami Haley, and Lanee Frisard. He is also survived by his sister, Ethelyn Farley; brothers Larry Jones (Peggy) and Roger Jones (Sally); nieces Angie Thurman, Mieka Hatcher, Sara Jones, and Erin Johnson; and nephews Melvin Farley, Calvin Farley, Chad Jones, and Stephen Jones.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 13, 2026, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, March 14th, 2026, at Main Street Baptist Church in Farmington, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, Arkansas. No graveside services will be held at the cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Main Street Baptist Church, Willard Walker Hospice, and to the many, many friends who visited Alan in his final days. The outpouring of love and support has meant more than words can express.
