Emmett B. Howard
89 a resident of Tahlequah, Oklahoma passed away December 25, 2013 in Tahlequah Oklahoma. He was born April 5, 1924 at Morrow, Arkansas. The son of Noah Franklin and Loretta Ann Reed Howard.
He married Virginia Finley June 5, 1943 and they were married for 70 years. He was a Southern Baptist.
He was a Coxswain 3rd class in the U.S. Navy during WWII, participating in five island invasions Eniwetok, Marianas, Saipan, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. He retired in California from the Fullerton Union High School District as maintenance foreman.
Survivors include his wife Virginia Finley Howard of the home; one son, Larry Gene Howard of Kittery, Maine; two grand daughters; one step-grand daughter; one great-grand daughter.
Funeral Service will be held December 31, 2013 2:00 Pm at the Luginbuel Chapel Prairie Grove, Arkansas with Jack Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery Morrow, Arkansas. There will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.
