ABSHIER, R.F.- R.F. Abshier, an old Confederate soldier residing near Strickler died last week from the effects of paralysis. He was about seventy-one years of age and was first stricken about five tears ago [The Springdale News 6/5/1903]
Roley F. Absire submitted Veteran Application #25792 for pension and was approved August 21, 1902 for service with Company D, 2ndArkansas Infantry from 1862 thru 1865. Mr. Abshire died May 27, 1903.
