W. P. Hutchens
Funeral services for W. P. Hutchens, 69, who died Saturday night at 11 o'clock following long illness, was held from the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. P. B. Langley officiating, assisted by Rev. J. F. Parker and Rev. J. T. Gillispie of Fayetteville.
The choir was composed of Mrs. J. E. Harris, Mrs. Fly Robertson, Mrs. J. R. Blakemore, Mrs. Clyde Delap, Mrs. Wayne Stone, Mrs. R. r. McCoy, Mrs. R. A. Barnes, Mrs. J. C. Parks, Mrs. J. S. Sharp, Mrs. Myrtle Beatty, Fred Harrison, R. C. Lee, Dr. J. A. Skelton and Mrs. Earl Cunningham, Pianist.
Burial was made in the Prairie Grove Cemetery with the Masonic lodge in charge.
The flowers were carried by Misses Ruby Mullins, Katie Shofner, Lou Clayton, Ruby Huey, Frances Gose, Frances Cunningham, Mrs. Orville Hutchens.
William Presley Hutchens son of Anderson and Adeline Hutchens, was born at Brentwood, Arkansas January 21, 1863. He was married to Miss Philenia Hannah.
To this union was born six children, two of the, Hugh and Billie Preceding their father in death.
Mrs. Hutchens is survived by his wife and four children, Clyde of Tyler, Texas Virgina of Kilgore, Texas, Mrs. Ben Mullens of Farmington, Arkansas, and Miss. Edith Hutchens of Prairie Grove.
He was a faithful member of the Baptist Church here, where he served as trustee deacon and clerk. He was superintendent of the Sunday school for some time and attended services as long as he was physically able.
