Lillian Edna Powell, 72, of 409 South Harris Street, Huntsville, died March 22, 1985, at the Huntsville Memorial Hospital. She was born September 23, 1912, at Huntsville, the daughter of William Walton and Etta Davis Boyd. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Thaxton K. Powell of the home; four sons, Nathan Dean Evans of Wesley, Herman Gene Evans of Huntsville, Clinton Powell of Berryville and Kenneth Powell of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Beverly McLoud and Mrs. Winnie Gregory, both of Huntsville, Mrs. Doris Alderson of Springdale, Mrs Janis Harrelson of Ontario, Calif., and Mrs. Barbara Gilbert of Goshen; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Watson of Seminole, Mrs. Verna Dailey of Fayetteville and Mrs. Ida Whitaker of Wesley; 27 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday, March 25, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Montgomery officiating.

Pallbearers were Dwight Gilbert, Junior Vaughan, Luke Osburn, David Whittenburg, Dean Parker and Buck Miller.
