Potters Mills, Centre County, Pennsylvania
Born at Potters Mills, Center Co.,Pa. Oct 9,1795; Graduated at Washington College in 1814; studied medicine with Dr.Alex T. Dean,of Chambersburg,Pa. and afterward, received the degree of M.D. in 1819 from University of Penn.; practiced in Campbellstown, but, in in 1821 removed to Shippensburg; married Caroline Nevin, daughter of Major David Nevin, and became the father of 10 children; practiced until 1870 a few years prior to his death.
