W. C. Huffaker was born Feb. 19, 1852, departed this life Oct. 4, 1927 - age 75 years, 7 months and 13 days. He was married to Miss Veta Felton on March 3, 1887, who preceded him in death a little more than 15 years ago. To this union were born two children who are left to mourn his death: Mrs. R. E. Billy of Joplin, Mo., and Mrs. J. O. Butler of Springfield, Mo. Also surviving is a brother, J. H. Huffaker of Lincoln, Ark., with whom he had made his home for the past two years, along with other relatives and friends.
He endured a long, lingering illness which he bore hardly without a murmur. He was always so patient. He was a good neighbor, a devoted husband, and a kind father.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Marrs of Cane Hill at the home of his brother at one o'clock Tuesday afternoon. All were by his bedside when the end came except one daughter, Mrs. R. E. Billy of Joplin, Mo., who was unable to come. Burial was made in the West Cemetery. The funeral and burial were under the direction of S. L. Luginbuel of Lincoln, Ark.
