Dorris D. Elkins

Age 99 1/2, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. She was born August 26, 1924 in Dutch Mills, Arkansas, the daughter of Robert and Cora (Whilock) Hodges.

Dorris retired from the University of Arkansas after 35 years of service, where she received an Award of Outstanding Service from the University of Arkansas Dining Services.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Noble Elkins, one granddaughter Lacy Elkins, and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son Gary Elkins and wife Helen; one sister Bobbie Pinkerton; two grandson Marty Elkins and Heath Elkins and his wife Tanya; four great grandchildren Dusty, Zac, Colby and Lauren; three great-great Auron, Braxton, and Blake Elkins and two bonus great-great grandchildren Cace and Kota Cooksey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Luginbuel Chapel with funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Son's Chapel Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas, there will be no graveside service held.
